100th Anniversary Fund Drive
This year marks a momentous occasion for HCC as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our beloved building and the 30th anniversary of Detwiler Memorial Field. For a century the Center has stood as a gathering place, a safe haven, and a source of recreation for the youth of Huntingdon. As we reflect on the past 10 decades, we are reminded of the countless memories created within our walls and on our fields. From community gatherings to youth sports, the Center has been a hub of activity and connection for generations.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, we have made tremendous strides in improving our facilities over the last several years. From the addition of the inclusive playground and new scoreboard and Detwiler Memorial Field to the many renovations at our 5th Street location, including updates to our game room, skate room, meeting room, offices and a complete remodel of our education center - Heather's Gateway to Learning. Just last year, two brand new bathrooms were installed off the gym and bench seating was added for spectators to enjoy this upcoming basketball season. Much needed repairs have been made to our heating system and renovations to the basement level bathrooms are scheduled to begin soon. New equipment was purchased for our t-ball, swim and gymnastics programs and we were able to provide scholarships for children to participate in camp HCC, basketball, gymnastics, soccer, t-ball, track & field and swimming.
While this list is impressive, we recognize there is still much to do. To ensure the Huntingdon Community Center continues to thrive and grow for future generations to enjoy, we are launching our 100th Anniversary Fund Drive with a goal of raising $50,000. Your support will help us execute our future plans, which include adding air conditioning to the gym, investing in technology upgrades, increasing our energy efficiency and growing both our recreational and educational programs. Every gift, big or small, makes a difference for the area youth that LIVE, LEARN & PLAY at HCC!
In addition to our annual fund drive, our Board of Directors is hosting a fundraising event to celebrate 100 years of service, impact, and connection.
