HOW IT WORKS
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has partnered with the Huntingdon Community Center as a local affiliate to deliver age-appropriate, expert-selected books for children. Through this program, each child residing in the 16652 zip code under the age of five can receive a free book each month from birth to age five. Each title is chosen to reflect children’s developmental stages and to celebrate the diverse identities and experiences of our community.

- In 8-12 weeks, your child will receive their first book in the mail, ‘The Little Engine That Could’.
- Books arrive in the mail monthly until your child’s 5th birthday.

- Promoting early literacy and lifelong learning Every child enrolled receives a high‑quality, age‑appropriate book each month from birth to age five. These books build vocabulary, spark curiosity, and strengthen the foundation for future academic success—directly supporting our commitment to educational opportunities that inspire lifelong growth.
- Strengthening family connection and wellness Reading together creates meaningful moments between children and caregivers. The Imagination Library encourages families to share stories, build routines, and enjoy time together, reinforcing our mission to inspire connection and support the wellbeing of children and families.
- Expanding access and inclusion for all children The program is free to every child in our community, regardless of income or background. By removing barriers to early learning resources, we ensure that all families can participate—fulfilling our promise to provide safe, inclusive, and engaging opportunities that enrich the quality of life in Huntingdon.
WAYS TO DONATE
A donation of just $31 will provide a child with one book per month for one year. A donation of $156 will provide a child with one book per month for 5 years (from birth to age 5). That's a total of 60 books put into the hands of child in Huntingdon.
